In the 1800s a Scottish clergyman immigrant initiated the move for independence of Australian colonies from Britain. He proposed the federation for the Australian colonies into one nation. Christian News Bulletin reported that Charlie Daniels, the country/gospel singer and southern rocker who was best known for the 1979 hit “The Devil Went Down to Georgia” and who also was an outspoken Christian, died on Monday 6Jul20 from a stroke. He was 83.
